deep interest in patters political domestic, internaticral,
and foreign, is wide read, and keeps herself up to date in
all topics.
While in Tranec in 1917, she was permitted by
the French Governmert to visit the French lines and the devast
-tated territory in the regions of the Earne, dispe, and
Somme, with the object of writing on the subject, and of
